Game Design

Working at Niantic Labs, I had the opportunity to study game design at a small and grand scale, using both the simplest of wooden pieces and the most cutting edge AR software.

On my own time, I design and develop my own games and interactive systems, as much for personal satisfaction as anything else. These have ranged from parlor games, to modified board game rules, to custom maps and game modes for online multiplayer servers.

Starfarers, my own cooperative board game currently in development, explores the power of games as collaborative storytelling media. It’s a rollicking adventure, an homage to classic sci-fi, and a canvas on which players create nail-biting sagas throughout the course of gameplay.
